Before Leaving... (April 8)

Today is the day. We agreed that it still does not feel like we are actually leaving for our Great South American Adventure. Making friends as we practically sailed through TSA [to the TSA agent who spoke both Spanish and Turkish we give you an A+], Marsky and EmBoss could not contain their excitement at the impending prospects of a ten-hour layover in Fort Lauderdale. We thank PB for her kind contribution to the Floridian breakfast/mojito fund!

We sought out some sustenance in the form of a good ole pepperoni pizza, began our hydration process in preparation for an altitude of 30,000feet, and found the sole outlets at our gate in order to charge our electronic supplies. I think we are ready to go... Suggestions welcome always!

¡Hasta luego Los Estados Unidos! ¡ y hasta pronto Peru!

Besitos,

EmBoss and Marsky

the beginning of the great South American adventure...

It all began over a drink. My friend, Mariel,  and I were sitting outside on the patio drinking a pint of beer (probably IPAs). It was a chilly fall evening so there were not many people, but we insisted on sitting outside to avoid the loud crowds at the bar. We were discussing how our "gap year" should be epic when Mariel mentioned she wanted to go to South America someday. My response: f*** it... let's go! We drank and shook on it, basically ensuring this fabulous South American adventure.

And so the planning begins. Due to budgetary and time constraints (we both do have some commitments to our lives at home), we settled on Peru and Chile. I look forward to sharing our trip as we make our way to a world so unlike our own to meet people with lives so vastly different from our own. It is sure to be an incredible adventure!

Hasta Luego,

EmBoss
